Stucco Repair for Luxury Homes

High-end homes tend to have more architectural details, such as multiple chimneys, intricate trim work, custom finishes, and hard-to-reach areas. Most contractors won’t touch synthetic stucco repair because it requires specialized knowledge of moisture management, color matching, and the layered construction that makes stucco unique.

At KPS, we’ve specialized in stucco repair in Indianapolis and Central Indiana for 35-plus years. We’re also members of BOMA, IREM, and IndyCREW, the same professional organizations that vet contractors for the region’s largest commercial properties.

And as a Tremco Certified contractor, we’ve spent decades mastering synthetic stucco systems. We bring that same expertise to every Indianapolis and Central Indiana home we work on.

Whether we’re working at your home, we respect your property like it’s our own. This means protecting landscaping, working efficiently to minimize disruption, and leaving the site immaculate when we’re finished.

Stucco vs. Synthetic Stucco – What’s the Difference?

Traditional stucco is a hard, cement-based finish applied directly over a substrate. It’s not commonly used for homes in Indiana.

Synthetic stucco, also known as EIFS, has a layer of foam insulation underneath the finish coat, making it lighter and more energy-efficient. It was commonly used on large estate homes built in Indianapolis and Central Indiana during the 1990s-2000s. While it has great benefits, it’s also vulnerable to water intrusion and pest damage.

Not sure which you have? Tap on your wall. Synthetic stucco sounds slightly hollow, while traditional stucco sounds solid. Either way, our team can identify what you have and recommend the right repair approach.

Customer Review: KPS Saved the Day with Stucco Chimney Repair

“When I found Knauss in an online search, I had been calling everywhere trying to find someone to fix the stucco-like exterior of our chimney (which birds had pecked holes in on all sides). Most companies said right away that they ‘don’t work on stucco.’ Two companies actually came to my home, quoted a price, and then backed out of the job ‘because your roof is so high and steep and the job is complicated.’ The product used on many home/building exteriors called EIFS is not something most people seem to work with.

When I called Knauss, Ralph answered the phone personally, and we had a friendly conversation during which I could already feel my stress level lowering. He knew all about the product, sounded like he had a good idea what the project would take, and even made me laugh about the evil woodpeckers attacking the house. Within a few days, I had an estimate, and the two-day project was completed a few weeks later when their schedule and the weather allowed.

Ralph’s crew was friendly, professional, and extremely tidy onsite. They moved lawn furniture carefully as they set up scaffolding along the back of the house and put everything back perfectly when they finished. They left the place immaculate at the end of the first day. Other than the scaffolding, you wouldn’t know a project was underway.

They were careful to consult with me about matching the paint for the chimney to our existing trim and went and picked it up themselves. I was nervous because the whole chimney exterior had to be rebuilt, but the work was beautifully done. I think it looks better than it did when new. They were kind enough to hang up some sparkly streamers I’d purchased to deter birds from coming back to the chimney, and they knocked down a few old nests in our eaves as well.

Every single person on the crew was friendly, cheerful, and courteous. They even stopped to greet my dog in the yard each day which kept her from being upset by the strangers working on scaffolding along the side of the house. This was the best experience I’ve had with any project from start to finish. I highly recommend this team and would use them again!

Stucco Chimney Repair & Sealing

A synthetic stucco chimney is one of the most exposed parts of your home because it takes on rain, snow, freeze-thaw cycles, and woodpecker damage, making it vulnerable to water damage.

Common chimney issues we fix:

  • Moisture infiltration through cracks, gaps, or failed sealant
  • Bird damage (birds are attracted to the foam underneath the stucco)
  • Spalling or stained finishes

We don’t just patch the visible damage. We address the moisture path with high-performance waterproof coating so the problem doesn’t return, and your investment is protected.

Common Residential Stucco Problems

  • Hairline cracks and stress fractures
